Meet Diane Thornton
Despite being retired for several years, Diane’s retirement adventures are really just beginning.
The hobbies and plans Diane had for her retirement were put on hold when she became a caretaker for her mother and husband. After battling Alzheimer’s and illness both passed away within a year of each other. While that wasn’t the start that Diane had planned, she kept her focus on God.
This past summer she was able to take her first real trip since retirement; traveling 1200 miles to Ruidoso, New Mexico. There she spent six weeks enjoying the mountains and milder weather, all in the comfort of her motorhome.
Diane is not just looking out for herself. She was able to help fund her granddaughter’s mission trip, and helpseveral other team members as they traveled to eleven countries in eleven months with Adventures in Missions. Thanks to her retirement, Diane was able to extend her New Mexico trip when her granddaughter flew out to spend a week with her.
As her retirement continues, Diane hopes to enjoy other trips as well as continuing to remodel the older home she bought. No matter what comes her way, Diane is determined to enjoy life and push aside any worry.
