A note from T Mac Howard, Delta Streets Head of School
Delta Streets Academy was founded in 2012 in Greenwood, MS to equip young men by providing Christ-centered disciplined education. We opened our doors with fourteen 7th and 8th graders and now have 81 students from 7th-12th grade with 13 full-time and 5 part-time faculty. DSA implemented distance learning this spring where teachers taught remotely using Zoom and each student had his own ChromeBook to use from home. Students this fall had the option to continue virtual learning or return to the classroom and adhere to certain guidelines.
Summer of 2020 was busy for Delta Streets with exciting additions to both the staff and facilities. As part of implementing our Strategic Plan, we recently hired three faculty: Xavier Black as School Administrator, Travis Upshaw as Director of Operations and Head Football Coach, and James Cheatham, our principal the past two years and now Campus Pastor. DSA staff built a new locker room, equipment room, coach’s office, renovated the bathroom, and our carpentry class will build three new classrooms this fall.
With all of the changes facing our world today, we serve an unchanging God. Because of the faithful support from our donors, the ministry of Delta Streets has not wavered and our students continue to receive a Christ-centered education!
In Christ,
T Mac Howard
Head of School
